Full-Time, Floater Residential Assistant, Direct Support Professional, Southern York County, PA (CLA):

A Residential Assistant Floater/Direct Support Professional (also known as a CNA, GNA, Home Health Aide) working for Penn-Mar Human Services serves as a support staff for a multiple adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities.  The Floater will need a strong foundation of skill sets in order to provide personal care, medication administration, behavioral support and transportation for a wide array of indviduals living in a group home setting.  Typical sites support 3-4 individuals and assignments may include 1:1 support shifts. Residential Assistants meet a vital need in the lives of others, and are always 'Transforming Life Into Living!' for the consumers that Penn-Mar Human Services supports.

The typical schedule for the Floater FLEXES depending on residential program needs and typically include first and second shift options, or overnight only options. All shift options may include weekend hours. OT as needed.  The work locations for the position are in Southern York County, PA.


This job is inclusive of, but not excluded to the following duties:

  • Personal Care as needed (may include assistance with toileting, feeding, transfers, etc.).
  • Behavioral Support (may include dealing with potential physical and verbal outbursts/ aggressiveness).
  • Medication  Administration (must be able to pass MD Medication Technician training).
  • Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Applicant must be able to stand, walk, sit, traverse, kneel, bend from the waist, etc., as needed.
  • Applicant must be able to communicate verbally, visually and audibly.


  • High School Diploma/ G.E.D.
  • Acceptable criminal background.
  • Valid Driver's License with 2 yrs. experience, and less than 3 moving violations (NO Major Violations, D.U.I's, Suspensions) in the previous 36 months.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment Drug Screen/ Physical/ Mantoux Test (PPD, TB).
